Samsung has confirmed to TechRadar that yesterday’s universal search removal from the Galaxy S III was unintentional. We first thought that software version XXBLG6 intentionally removed the universal search in order to keep Apple’s lawyers happy. A Samsung representative told TechRadar the following:

The most recent software upgrade for the Galaxy S III in the UK included the inadvertent removal of the universal search function. Samsung will provide the correct software upgrade within the next few days.

Sadly this wasn’t the first time Samsung has messed a software update for their flagship. Luckily users were not left with a bricked device due to this bug.
