Samsung Galaxy S III Pebble Blue back cover peeling

MobileBulgaria reports that they’ve gotten hold of a back cover that once belonged to a Samsung Galaxy S III in Pebble Blue. We’ve reported that Samsung needed to scrap over 600,000 back covers due to an unknown cause. Today, we know what caused this.

The pictures posted by MobileBulgaria look horrible. The Pebble Blue color has some white residue in it. It looks as if the cover got sunburned and the varnish started to peel off. Would be interesting to know exactly how much this will cost Samsung. First you need to scrap 600,000 covers, followed by a hasted re-production of at least 600,000 additional covers. Ouch.
