LG X3

Quad-core LG X3

Smartphones are becoming faster and faster all the time, and now the time has come for quad-core smartphones. Today we get information of a LG X3, which appears to be LG’s quad-core monster.

The device pictured above has a 4.7-inch HD touchscreen (1280 x 720), a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, an 8-megapixel rear-camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB internal memory, microSD card support, 21 Mbps HSPA support (possibly even LTE in some markets), 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a 2,000 mAh battery. All of this is packed in a case that is only 9 mm thick!

We’re hoping for a release at Mobile World Congress next month!

Nokia 5250

Here is what is said to be a Nokia 5250, a replacement for the Nokia 5230 (and 5228). Nokia has previously changed the way they name their products, and this new model number doesn’t fit the new naming system.

The Nokia 5250 could be something that Nokia has been working on, and later decided to skip totally or just rename it. When you look at the phone, it actually looks to be part of the Nokia X-series, with its rounded corners and dedicated media button. With phones like the X3, X5 and X6 available, I’d say this could even be called the Nokia X4-00?

The phone looks to have Bluetooth, Symbian S60 5th edition and a relatively small touch screen.

Nokia X3 - Silver Blue

Together with the X6 v21 update, Nokia also released a new firmware for the Nokia X3-00. This update will bring the software to version 21.0.004. To fetch the update, go to Applications > Software Update on your phone, tap in *#0000# and ‘Search for Updates’, or use the Nokia Software Updater.

Changelog for Nokia X3-00 firmware version 21.0.004:

This release also provides improved battery charging notification and ring and alert tones. To get this software through your device, select Applications > Software Update, and choose the software you want to update. Alternatively, this software release is available through the Nokia Software Updater.
