More info of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro successor has appeared. So far we know that it will run on Android 2.3, have a 3-inch screen at a resolution of 320 x 480, 1GHz (or 800MHz) CPU, Adreno 205 GPU and a slide-out QWERTY-keyboard. A wild guess for this new Xperia family is X20, since it’s a newer generation of the X10 family.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 family Android 2.1

Those of you Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, X10 mini or X10 mini pro users who have already received the update to Android 2.1 shouldn’t get too excited about new Android releases. Sony Ericsson today told that they will not release a major update after Android 2.1. This is really a shame, and doesn’t do any justice to the hardware-wise cool Xperia X10 -family. Let’s hope Sony Ericsson will work better on their future products, and actually release firmware updates for a longer time. Android 2.3 wouldn’t be a bad thing for the Xperia X10.. :(

Sony Ericsson announced the cutest little Android phone on the market at MWC in February 2010. Now the rumor is that they will announce a sequel to this little device, with a focus on the specs. What better time to announce it then one year after the original, at MWC 2011.

Sony Ericsson has now basically used all the X-names from 1-10, so how can they name the new generation of devices? What if Sony Ericsson did a +10 on their current generation, so the new Xperia mini would be actually Xperia X20 mini? That was just something that I came up with so don’t actually think the name will be that :)

Here you have the rumored specs for the sequel to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini:

  • Android 2.3
  • 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU with Adreno 205 GPU
  • 3.0 inch screen at a 320 x 480 resolution
  • Rear and front-facing camera
  • Slide out QWERTY keyboard

I think it’s very good that they decided to go with a little bit bigger screen this time. Makes it much easier to use the on-screen keyboard for typing.

Nokia Xperia X10 mini - Azure Blue and Pink

Sony Ericsson today announced two new colors to the Xperia X10 mini: Azure Blue and Pink. Pretty cool looking new colors!

No word on when these two new colors will be available, but don’t think it will take that long. Hit View Post for another shot of the pink color.

Sony Ericsson X10 mini pro - Black

The first shipment of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro arrived today at the store where I work.  The X10 mini pro is exactly the same as the X10 mini, but with an added QWERTY keyboard. The Android 1.6 powered little phone comes with a 600MHz processor, 2.6″ capacitive touch screen, 5MP camera, A-GPS, micro USB connector, microSD card, Bluetooth with support for A2DP, WiFi and a FM radio with RDS support.

I personally think that Sony Ericsson has done a good job with the XPERIA X10 mini pro. The screen is small, but with the full keyboard it feels quite good in your hand. Build quality also seems good, and the spring that opens the QWERTY slider is good.
