Sony MWC invitation

Sony MWC invitation

Sony has sent out invitations to a press event they plan to hold at Mobile World Congress. The event will be held on Sunday, February 26th at 6:00pm CET.

Here’s what the company teases with, ”Find out what’s new and what’s next! Join Sony and Sony Moblile Communications at our Press Conference at Mobile World Congress.”

Care to guess what we’ll see announced at MWC? Sony Xperia U and Xperia P maybe?

Eldar Murtazin leaked today an image of a device believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus. He didn’t specifically mention what device this it, but given that it looks a lot like the Galaxy S II, I’d say that it is the Galaxy S II Plus.

The Samsung Galaxy S II Plus is expected to get a speed bump to a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU. The buttons have been slightly redesigned and gone all capacitive to match with Android 4.0′s overall design. As of now, Samsung has only one device running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and that is the Nexus S. The Galaxy S II Plus would hence be the company’s second ICS device.

An announcement at Mobile World Congress in a few weeks is highly possible.

Samsung Galaxy S III

Chris Ziegler of The Verge together with several German sites have put out a rumor that Samsung will not announce their new flagship device, the Galaxy S III, at Mobile World Congress next month. Ziegler wrote that Samsung is “uncomfortable with another long lag between the global launch and the US availability”.

I guess we just have to sit back and wait for them to announce it. Stay tuned!

Nokia Invite to Mobile World Congress 2012

Nokia Invite to Mobile World Congress 2012

Nokia has finally sent out press invites to an event they plan to hold on February 27 at 8:30 AM local time. The last time Nokia attended Mobile World Congress was in 2009. In 2010 the company stated that they’ll use the cash to fund other marketing activities, and in 2011 they focused on Nokia World.

This year’s Mobile World Congress will take place between February 27 and March 1.

HTC Primo

The mobile industry is eagerly waiting for their yearly announcement party, also known as Mobile World Congress. Today we have yet another device that is rumored to be officially announced at the event in question, and this device is the HTC Primo.

The HTC Primo is said to come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p video, 1 GHz dual-core CPU and 512MB RAM. The rumored price for this is £250. The availability remains unknown.

Sony ST25i Kumquat

Sony ST25i Kumquat

Not that long ago, an alleged Sony roadmap for 2012 leaked. The roadmap contained a wide selection of code names that we hadn’t heard before. One of those devices, the Sony LT25i Kumquat, has now leaked. The image you see above is told to be that exact device.

On the spec side of things, we’re expecting to see a dual-core 1GHz processor, 3.5-inch screen (480×854 pixels), 5-megapixel camera and Android 2.3. The device is basically a mini-Xperia S. We don’t really have other information of the Kumquat now, but we’re expecting to see it announced February at Mobile World Congress 2012.

LG X3

Quad-core LG X3

Smartphones are becoming faster and faster all the time, and now the time has come for quad-core smartphones. Today we get information of a LG X3, which appears to be LG’s quad-core monster.

The device pictured above has a 4.7-inch HD touchscreen (1280 x 720), a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, an 8-megapixel rear-camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB internal memory, microSD card support, 21 Mbps HSPA support (possibly even LTE in some markets), 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a 2,000 mAh battery. All of this is packed in a case that is only 9 mm thick!

We’re hoping for a release at Mobile World Congress next month!

Sony has sent out invites to a press event they’re planning to hold at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. The company will present the latest news in the Xperia line.

We’re expecting to see at least a few models announced at the event. Earlier today we got the roadmap for Sony’s 11 smartphones they’re still planning to release this year. According to the roadmap, we’ll see the Kumquat, Nypon and Pepper released in April, so MWC is the most plausible event for the announcement.
