WMPoweruser has posted a set of information regarding Windows Phone 7‘s architecture.

  • Your phone is heavily linked to your Windows Live ID (much like an Android phone is to your Google account)
  • Users will be asked to log in at first boot and asked to accept the EULA
  • Hardware will be verified through a Genuine Windows Phone certification before an ID will be accepted
  • Without a Live ID, contact sync, use of the Marketplace, and use of Microsoft services are not possible
  • Phone processes will be able to utilize up to 1GB of the phone’s RAM (high limit takes future hardware into account)
  • No Bluetooth 3 support
  • OEMs are responsible for Direct3D drivers
  • OEMs will be limited to 6 pre-installed apps, taking up a max of 60 MB
  • OEMs cannot install trialware
  • OEMs can change the default search engine in Mobile Internet Explorer, but cannot remove Bing as the phone’s default search provider

Don’t see a problem with any of these, but a big plus for the “OEMs cannot install trialware”! Imagine a world without bloatware… :)

It has been a really iPhone leak rich weekend, and the debate goes on today. Engadget posted a few days ago a set of pictures of what they claimed to be the next generation iPhone. After that, the images were said to be taken of a Japanese counterfeit, and today there is evidence about these images again being authentic again!

Daring Fireball’s John Grubes has dug up an Apple patent from year 2006 about a ceramic/glass material that is radio friendly. Metals don’t usually tend to let radio waves go though them, and this is the reason why we haven’t seen a unibody/aluminum iPhone. The ceramic/glass material on the back, and in the pictures, would allow us to have a user replaceable battery.

The sim card holder on the side appears to be a microSIM slot(same card as the 3G iPad is using).

Engadget has found an iPhone laying around in a bar in San Jose. OK that sounds stupid, but skip to the real point! This could in fact be the next iPhone generation, or maybe a prototype to see if the hardware is working. The phone has a front-facing camera and 80GB storage. You can find the normal Apple markings on the back of the phone, which would indicate that this is something from Apple’s lab.

What makes this even more interesting, is that this new found phone is almost an exact copy of a phone that was circling the internet. That time the pic was found on some chinese forum, and grabbed by a tweeter.

OS 5.0.0.610 just leaked for the BlackBerry Curve 8520. This isn’t an official release, but if you want to go on a leaked OS then this is your chance. Remember to do a full backup of your system before installing the OS.

iClarified has posted a few images of what they claim to be the iPhone 4/iPhone HD or what ever the name will be.

The back is more angular than current iPhone models, and seems to be made of just one aluminum block(Unibody iPhone?). However, there is only one hole in the back for the camera, which would mean that we will still not see a flash on the iPhone.

A few images after the break.

A new image of the HTC Legend just leaked, and this time it brought specs of the phone with it. Here is what we know now:

  • 3.2″ HVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
  • 600MHz Qualcomm processor(MSM7227 family)
  • 5MP camera with LED flash
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • WiFi
  • Quadband GMS / EDGE plus dualband HSPA
  • Compass
  • Optical trackpad
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • microUSB connector
  • aluminium case
  • 1300mAh battery

A cool looking phone leaked by Pocketnow.com. The HTC Incredible will sport the following specs:

  • Snapdragon processor
  • Android 2.1
  • Sense UI
  • 3.5″ or 3.7″ AMOLED screen
  • Dual LED flash
  • 256MB or RAM
  • Optical mouse pointer
  • And by the looks of it, the camera lens is at least 5MP

Eldar Murtazin is on it again, which is leaking information. This time around it is about Windows Mobile 7, and its minimum system requirements. They seem quite high-end in my opinion. Maybe there will be two different versions of Windows Moible 7, one dedicated to high-end phones(Professional?) and one dedicated to basic phones(Basic?)? Or, maybe Windows Mobile 6.6 is bound for lower-end, and Windows Mobile 7 for high-end smart phones?

Minimum requirements for Windows Mobile 7 (Professional?):

  • 1GHz CPU
  • 3.6″ WVGA screen
  • G-sensor and Compass
  • 8GB internal memory
  • 5MP camera
