HTC HD mini compared with HTC HD2 – Pictures and video

Neowin has made an interesting comparison between the recently announced HTC HD mini and the older and bigger HTC HD2. The HTC HD mini packs these features:

  • 3.2″ capacitive touch screen with a HVGA resolution (320 x 480)
  • 600MHz CPU
  • 512MB ROM and 384MB RAM
  • 5 megapixel auto focus camera
  • A-GPS
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g
  • Windows Mobile 6.5 with HTC Sense
  • HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
  • GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

So basically this is a HTC HD2 but with a less powerful processor, and a smaller screen. Neowin also commented on this and said that they where experiencing small lag issues with the Sense UI. More pictures and a video after the break.

Guys over at XDA-developers are discussing the possibility to enable the possible FM transmitter inside the HTC HD2. HTC patented capacitive stylus now shipping in UK

Remember that patent application made by HTC for a “stylus for a capacitive screen” a few months ago(if you don’t, check here first)? It appears that a capacitive stylus for HTC HD2 is now shipping in the United Kingdom. The HTC HD2 Capacitive Stylus ST C400 can be bought from HTC Accessory Store by following this link. Of course, there isn’t a place on the phone for this pen, but you can keep it in your breast pocket or anywhere you want.

The stylus is priced at £11.99(around 14€).

Browser war: Nexus One vs HTC HD2

In this browser speed test the contestants are Google’s Nexus One, and HTC’s HD2. As you probably know, the Nexus One runs on Android, and the HD2 runs on Windows Mobile. The test is done by using the fastest mobile browser we know of, in other words Skyfire.

Overall, loading times are much better on the HD2, but the user experience is better on the Nexus One. Also what I find a little bit disturbing on the HD2, is that it doesn’t show the page before its fully loaded. I prefer the method used on the Nexus One, since the user is able to view the page while its loading.

A pretty basic browser speed test between the Motorola Droid, iPhone 3GS, Nokia N900, HTC HD2, Nokia N97 mini, Palm Pre and BlackBerry Storm. The iPhone 3GS is still the fastest, while the HTC HD2 comes in at second place. The only one I’m missing from the test is Google’s Nexus One.
