WP7.5 build 7720

Team DFT, the ones known for hacking Windows Phone to run on a HTC HD2, have now already gotten their fingers on the RTM build of Windows Phone Mango. The RTM build number is 7720.

Team DFT posted the image above to show that they’ve gotten it to run on a HTC HD7. Could we see this ported to the HD2 soon?

DFT HTC HD2 Mango

The HTC HD2 was once THE smartphone to have. Even in today’s standards this is a powerful device. The Dark Forces Team has earlier shown what they’re capable of doing with the HD2. They’ve successfully already installed Android on it, and it will now be followed by Windows Phone Mango!

The image you see above was presented by DFT earlier this week. They say that we could see a public release as early as tomorrow. The team tells that there are some things that will not work on the HD2, like all the live services and the Marketplace. Still, this is an awesome hack for HD2 owners.

Got to love those dudes over at XDA Developers. This time around they’ve successfully hacked the recent Windows Phone 7 NoDo update to run on a HTC HD2, the device that originally run on Windows Mobile 6.5!

The HD2 got the NoDo update faster than most of the legit Windows Phone 7 users :)

AndroidvsWP7

The guys over at XDA are simply amazing. Now they’ve hacked a HTC HD2 to run on both Windows Phone 7 and Android. Android will be run from a microSD card, while the WP7 part will hide in the phones NAND memory.

To get started with this process, head over to XDA-Developers here.

Windows Phone 7 on a HTC HD2

The Dark Forces Team have successfully ported Windows Phone 7 to the HTC HD2! They’ve previously shown that it can be done, but now they’ve completed it and actually made it available for download.

It appears to be fully working, with only Microsoft’s cloud services missing. This means that HD2 users with WP7 will not currently be able to access the Marketplace, Windows Live Sync or the Xbox Live service.

The Dark Forces Team’s website is currently down, but when it’s back up you can head over and download WP7 for the HTC HD2 from here. Pretty amazing work by them, thank you!

How marvelous is this, Windows Phone 7 ported to the HTC HD2!? This is yet another lovely thing that has come out of XDA developers. As you can see in the video, the WP7 port is looking good and making calls. Just wait for a final release :)

Microsoft and OEM makers have confirmed that the HTC HD2 will not get an official version of Windows Phone 7. Now, a hacker by the name Cotulla has managed to boot his HTC HD2 with Windows Phone 7.

What do you think, is it believable?

Here is a comparison video of startup times of Windows Phone 7, Android, iOS and Windows Mobile.

The attending devices are as follows:

  • iOS 4 – iPhone 4
