The Nokia E72 just received a firmware update. No word about what the update will bring more, at least it updates the version number to 23.002 ;)
Remember to make a backup of your phone before updating.

Nokia’s firmware department has been active in the past few days. Today they released a firmware update to the Nokia E72, which pumps the version of the phone up to 22.007.
No changelog for the moment of writing. As always, remember to make a backup of your phone before updating. Currently, the update is available by using the OTA update feature of your phone.

Mobile Youth Consultancy has conducted a survey among 1,000 university students in the United Kingdom, on what mobile phones they use. According to the survey, Nokia’s share is 30 percent, and Sony Ericsson’s share is 27 percent and BlackBerry took a 2 percent share. This leaves big brands like Samsung, LG, HTC and Apple licking their fingers.
Students say that this is mainly because of good IM, SMS and social networking features seen in for instance the Nokia E72. Also a QWERTY-keyboard is a big plus.

According to a Finnish news site puhelinvertailu, the Nokia N72 will be delayed by almost two months.
The phone was originally supposed to be released late in the third quarter, in other words last month. Now it’s scheduled to be released during weeks 47-48. So the date has slipped from late September, to late November. This means that the earliest shipping date is now between November 16th and 29th.
I’m quite certain that this is accurate, since the dates came from a Nokia Online Store representative. Read the original posting here.
If you want to receive your E72 in the first batch, be sure to make a pre-order from Nokia’s Online Store.

Want to be among the first 72 persons to own a Nokia E72? If yes, then be sure to book your flight to Jakarta, Indonesia on September 15th. Beside the plane ticket, you’ll also need a VIP pass to the Grand Ballroom at Ritz-Carlton and an older Nokia E-series for proof.
If you can meet those requirements, congrats and enjoy your uniqueness ;)

Mobile@mail.ru has posted some pictures of the new Nokia E72. The E72 is the successor of the E71. The phone has gotten a fairly nice update on the hardware part. Compared to the old one, the new one has a 3,5mm audio-jack, 5MP camera and the very fast 10,2Mbps HSDPA connection. And the new phone also looks better than the E71 :) More pictures after the brake!
