Nokia X3 - Silver Blue

Together with the X6 v21 update, Nokia also released a new firmware for the Nokia X3-00. This update will bring the software to version 21.0.004. To fetch the update, go to Applications > Software Update on your phone, tap in *#0000# and ‘Search for Updates’, or use the Nokia Software Updater.

Changelog for Nokia X3-00 firmware version 21.0.004:

This software release makes it easier to register your device with Nokia’s Comes With Music service. With pinless activation, you can select a link to register your device. This release also provides improved battery charging notification and ring and alert tones. To get this software through your device, select Applications > Software Update, and choose the software you want to update. Alternatively, this software release is available through the Nokia Software Updater.

Nokia X6 32GB - White

Nokia just released a new update for their X6-00 phone. The new software version is 21.0.004, and it can be downloaded over-the-air or via Nokia Software Updater.

This software release includes updated versions of several applications, such as Browser, Mail for Exchange, and Shazam. This release also comes with usability improvements, for example, in video calling. To get this software through your device, select Applications > Software Update, and choose the software you want to update. Alternatively, this software release is available through the Nokia Software Updater.
As you might know, your X6 also comes with UDP, so you don’t have to make a backup before updating, but it is of course highly recommended.

Motorola Backflip

AT&T is pushing software update 13.37 to Motorola Backflip users. The update can be obtained OTA, via 3G or WiFi.

This update doesn’t bring you Android 2.1 yet, but improves the following features.

 HTC HD mini

HTC released two new ROMs for their phones. Both the HTC HD mini and the HTC Touch Pro2 got the following ROM update:

  • Update for HTC HD mini Enhance the stability of SMS
  • Update for HTC Touch Pro2 Enhance the stability of SMS

This update amends the internal management of SMS functionality, and enhances SMS transmission stability.

Nokia E66 - White

Nokia is on fire! They have released a new firmware for the N97, N97 mini, 6700, E71 and the next phone to receive a new firmware is the E66. As with the E71, the update is quite big and adds support for free voice navigation. The new version number is 500.21.009, and the update can be obtained via NSU. Please make a full backup of your system before continuing with the update. If you don’t make a backup, all your data will be lost during the update, since the E66 doesn’t have UDP.

HTC HD mini

HTC released a new ROM for the HD mini.

The new ROM version depends on where you live:

Greece: 1.36.482.1, Portugal: 1.36.410.1, France: 1.36.406.1, Denmark: 1.36.403.1,

Italy: 1.36.408.1, Europe: 1.36.401.1, Spain: 1.36.412.1, Russian Federation: 1.36.411.1,

Sweden: 1.36.413.1, Germany: 1.36.407.1, Nederland: 1.36.404.1, East Europe: 1.36.479.1,

Norway: 1.36.409.1

Changelog:

  1. The trimmer bar will slide smoothly while trimming the mp3.
  2. Enhance the system performance and stability.

Nokia 6700 Classic - Silver

It’s a big firmware update day for Nokia today (earlier today Nokia N97 and N97 mini). Nokia just announced on their official blog that also the Nokia 6700 classic received a new firmware today, version 13.10. The biggest change with this is the addition of free Ovi Maps voice navigation, a feature that only its bigger brother, the 6730, had before.

Nokia N97

The Nokia N97 got a new firmware today. Firmware version 22.0.110 doesn’t bring any new features, but is mainly a bug fix release.

The update will be pushed as an OTA update first, and it will become available via Nokia Software Updated in due time.

Data package content, corrections or changes :

  • Corrections to TOP ~15 issues reported in the field
  • OTC cases fixed:
    • Wrong Cherry number used in Russia and Spain
    • “System error” displayed occasionally at first start-up. Reported e.g.  by Vodafone.

Genius cases fixed:

  • Contacts performance improvement:
    • #144324: Voice dialing not working when there are 2000+ entries stored in Contacts.
    • #134637: Phone prompts “Memory full” when searching for names

Localisation & language variant specific:

  • #154188: Message editor crashes and writing fails if predictive text input is On. (Arabic UI, v15 language variant)
  • #146139: Scrolling to left and right works the wrong way around in Photos – Captured when using Arabic UI
  • #147509: QWERTY keypad input does not work correctly with Calculator. (Chinese language variants: v19, v25, v26)
  • #139207: “Slide to Answer” localization error  (Hebrew)
  • #140654: Localisation error in Bluetooth Audio – “Set as (un)authorized”  (Czech)

Misc:

  • #141675: “Security module error” shown in display occasaionally at start-up
  • #147863: Occasionally device hangs and restarts soon after start-up.
  • #137558: Device keylock opens (although it shouldn’t) when dialing a number using a carkit. (CK-300, CK-600, also some non-Nokia, factory installed car kits)

Others:

  • Default Nokia tune is played as ringing tone for incoming calls instead of the one user has defined in Profile settings. Also sometimes device ahs stopped alerting for incoming calls. Both issues are now fixed.
