Sony Ericsson today announced its next phone that will be part of the GreenHeart line. The QWERTY smartphone will be called Sony Ericsson Aspen, and will run on top of Windows Mobile 6.5.3.
The phone will have a 2.4″ QVGA resistive touch screen, a 3.2MP camera, 3.5mm audio-jack, FM radio, WiFi, microUSB connector and a full QWERTY keyboard. The phone is 117 x 60 x 12.45 mm in size, and weighs 130 grams.

Windows Mobile 6.5.3 software development kit (SDK), and OS images was today quietly released.

Microsoft has confirmed Windows Mobile version 6.5.3. This will add better touch support for the Windows Mobile -platform, and the update should be available in the coming weeks. Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer, will probably unveil this version next Wednesday at CES.

The newest Windows Mobile builds for 6.5.3 (28002 & 28004) brings a new more finger-friendly keyboard into WiMo. Moving away from stylus-world into a fat-finger world.
