A nice video from Late Show with David Letterman about the guy who lost the iPhone 4G/HD.

HTC has posted a video on YouTube of the HTC EVO(previously called HTC Supersonic). On a hardware level, this is THE phone to get. It comes with a 4.3″ capacitive display, 8 megapixel primary camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing video conferencing camera, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, Android 2.1 with HTC Sense, HDMI-out, GPS, WiFi and WiMAX.

WSJ has learned that the next iPhone will be a high-definition version of the current iPhone, with a screen-resolution of 960×640 pixels (currently 480×320). Apart from this, there will be a front-facing camera and of course an Apple designed chip. And this time around there should be multi-tasking!

Engadget again has learned today that the next version of the iPhone will be called iPhoneHD (or iPhone HD). The new version should be announced on June 22nd, that is a Tuesday (a day that Apple normally uses to announce products).

Apple is also said to be working on a Verizon iPhone that should be released sometime next fall.

This appears to be the same screen that was leaked last month(link here). Can’t tell if this is real or not, but it could be the screen of the iPhone 4G.

In the depths of the current iPhone SDK lays evidence of a Video Chat feature, that will most probably be used in future iPhones. This means that we will in fact see a front facing camera on the coming iPhone.

iPhone repair site iResQ has posted a few photos of what appears to be the fourth-generation iPhone’s parts. What is interesting about these, is that the front of the phone is a little bit taller, and has some soft of reflective surface on the top. No-one knows what this reflective surface will be used for, but I can’t even come up with a wild guess about its function.

Leaks like this should always be taken with a grain of salt, since there have been so many mis-leaks in the past. A few more pictures after the break.

Bloomberg released an interesting interview with Gold Sachs Group Inc. analyst Robert Chen. Robert talked about the next iPhone generation, and about possible hardware add-ons/upgrades.

“Apple’s going to put a lot of innovation, not just on the hardware, but also on the software of the new iPhone,” said Taipei-based Chen, a member of Asia’s top-ranked technology hardware research team. The handset will feature a new plastic casing similar to that used for Apple’s touch-panel Magic Mouse released last year, he said.

Let’s see how this will change the user experience of the iPhone, looks to me that something ‘revolutionary’ is coming.

Korea Times today wrote that the next generation of the iPhone will be released as early as April. They also said that it will come with an OLED screen, support for video chat, a dual core processor and a changeable battery.

Here is a quote from their post:

They said the coming 4G iPhones will be equipped with organic light emitting diode (OLED) screens on surface and live video chat functionalities, while removable battery is highly likely.

Tasty eh?

OmniVision, the producer of the iPhone 3GS CMOS chip, today said that they are preparing to ship 40-45 million 5MP CMOS sensors a year for Apple to use in their next-gen iPhone. The phone is rumored to be released in June 2010, at the WWDC where the previous iPhone models have been unveiled. The estimate for 2009 was 20-21 million sensors, so this means that they think the amount of shipped iPhones will double.
