Samsung was quick to issue a fix for the bug that their engineers somehow let into the wild last week. The bug was caused by a recent firmware update (XXBLG6) for the Samsung Galaxy S III and it removed the universal search option from the device. The new firmware, which is marked as version I9300XXBLG8, luckily fixes this, and it can be downloaded as a roughly 5MB over the air update.
