HTC Prime Windows Phone 7HTC Ignite Windows Phone 7

Chinese XDA leaked two interesting looking Windows Phone 7s, called Prime and Ignite. Both of these phones share the following specs:

  • 3.7-inch resistive touchscreen
  • 800 MHz CPU, likely a second-generation Snapdragon
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 5-megapixel camera with LED flash
  • 3G 7.2Mbps down, 2Mbps up
  • WiFi, Bluetooth

The Prime will be exactly like the Ignite, but with a slide-out QWERTY-keyboard.

Microsoft’s Chassis 1 requirements for Windows Phone 7 require a capacitive touchscreen, and a minimum of 1GHz CPU. The fact that these leaked HTC devices have specs below that, could mean that the tipster didn’t get the specs correct, or then these will be one of the first devices to be classed as Chassis 2. We still don’t know what the Chassis 2 will be like, but one guess is that it will not be that requiring. That way we’d see cheaper Windows Phone 7s hit the market. Cheaper Windows Phone 7s is something that Nokia has also been talking about.

There’s nothing more rewarding for an update freak like me, but to notice that your phone has received a new firmware. Better yet, our review unit of the Nokia E7-00 received a new firmware! The new firmware is the long awaited PR1.1 for the E7. The exact version is 14.002. Fire up the Software Update tool to get it (or call *#0000#).

We just saw a leaked photo of what is said to be a Sony Ericsson Xperia mini 2. It looks identical to the Xperia mini pro 2 that we saw leaked a few months ago. Just from this one photo we can’t say for sure if this is the same device as last time, or if this is the keyboardless version of it. It is at least white and super blurry ;)

This rumored device is said to have the following specs:

  • 1GHz or 800 MHz CPU
  • Adreno 205 GPU
  • 3-inch multi-touch display
  • 320 x 480 pixels resolution
  • (slide-out QWERTY-keyboard)
  • Android 2.3

There’s no word on availability nor pricing.

If there is anyone of you out there who is still waiting for the white iPhone 4 to come out, you’re in luck. Apple’s own Phil Schiller confirmed on twitter that the white iPhone 4 will be available this Spring.

Here’s Phil Schiller’s response tweet to the question by @airickanderson “how do I get white iPhone?”:

@airickanderson Hi Eric. The white iPhone will be available this spring (and it is a beauty!)

Those of you who decide not to get the white iPhone 4, can wait till next summer when the Apple iPhone 5 is expected hit the shelves. It is likely that we will see the iPhone 5 in white.

Here’s a nice internet speed comparison video between the iPhone 4 and Motorola ATRIX 4G. Both devices use the same AT&T SIM. Would be interesting to know what happened to the upload speed on the Atrix 4G..
