Nokia today released a great little tool called Welcome Home. This will help you migrate from a BlackBerry, iPhone or Android device to a brand new Nokia Lumia device. The app can move your contacts, calendars, media, and even help you look for application alternatives. When the backup is done, you’ll be able to sync your content to a new device with the help of Zune or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac. In fact, since you need to use Microsoft’s syncing tool, I can’t see why this wouldn’t help you migrate to any Windows Phone. Still, great work Nokia! This certainly makes the transition much easier now.

Welcome Home is a comprehensive one-time set-up tool, offering customers who re transitioning from a BlackBerry, iPhone or Android device, a fast and easy way to set-up a Nokia Lumia phone with their info and media. Welcome Home also leverages Quixey’s app search technology that sees the apps people already own and presents the app if it has a Windows Phone version. For the apps that don’t have an exact match, users are recommended similar apps for Windows Phone.
