Sony is working on a sequel to the Sony Tablet S. The new tablet will be part of Sony’s Xperia family.

This Sony Xperia Tablet will come with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, run at least Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and come in storage capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. We’ll also get the usual WiFi and 3G models. A battery life of up to 10 hours will be ensured by a 6,000 mAh battery. The display will be 9.4-inch with the same 1280×800 resolution as its predecessor. Leaked images show that this tablet will also be splash proof.

What is also present in the leaked images, is a keyboard cover accessory, which is very similar to the one we saw when Microsoft announced its Surface tablet. The keyboard cover is expected to be priced at $80.

The cheapest Sony Xperia Tablet is expected to sell for $450 (16GB), while the ones with larger storage will sell for $550 (32GB) and $650 (64GB). So far we have no details on when a possible launch will occur.
