Amazon has for a while now been rumored to be working on a successor to the popular Kindle Fire tablet. This is again hinted in a report by AllThingsD. According to their sources, the new Kindle Fire will have a sharper screen with a different aspect ratio. The new Kindle Fire will have a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, versus the 1024 x 600 pixels the current generation rocks. Additionally, the tablet will also be thinner and lighter than the current model.

Reports a while ago had Amazon planning to announced the new Kindle Fire at an event on July 31. It remains unknown if these plans have changed. AllThingsD reports that we’ll see the final product shipping in Q3 2012.
