We’ve heard rumors of what Windows Phone Mango will actually be called. Most of us have called it Windows Phone 7.5 for a while now. This name actually came up from a document found on the Microsoft Partner network, so it could really be WP7.5. However, the name Windows Phone 7.1 has today appeared at the Microsoft Developer Network (link here). Could this be newer info, and Mango is actually going to be WP7.1? Whatever the final name will be, we will hear of it in just a few hours when the first Mango VIP preview event goes live! ...

Most of you know that we will today see many preview events of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Neowin has now learned that the Mango SDK should be released in beta today, most probably at the US preview event. According to their sources, Microsoft is targeting a word-wide release of Mango in September. This means that carriers and OEMs should get their geeks working on the final Mango code pretty soon. Another thing that their sources told is that some developers will be invited to a “preview program”. This will enable them to either...
Joe Marini, Principal Program Manager for IE Mobile, said that IE9 Mobile for Windows Phone was now “code complete”. This means that there will not be any new features added from this point and forward. The team will now focus on ironing out bugs, and doing performance tuning. The main focus is on the graphics performance. Ever since Microsoft started talking about IE9 Mobile, they’ve talked speed. At MIX 11 they showed a development version of IE9 Mobile on a WP7 device running different speed tests. In the demo, the...
A bombshell for this Sunday – 9 new Windows Phone 7 devices coming next week!? According to a WMPowerUser tipster, this is the case, and we’ll really see the next-generation of WP devices being released next week. Two of these devices will be manufactured by HTC, two by Acer, one by Dell and a whopping four by Samsung. The lonely Dell device will most probably be the Dell Wrigley, that was seen in a roadmap earlier this year. At least one of the Samsung device’s will resemble the Galaxy S II. Let’s hope this is...

In Poland, a journalist of the site WP-7.pl, received the invite you see above. The invite is pretty special since it includes an actual fresh mango! I like this kind of special treatment Hit View Post for the unboxed view. ...
It seems like the world is waiting to hear more about the Nokia and Microsoft deal, and when we’ll actually see some Windows Phone powered Nokia’s in the store. Now we have a little more insight into this, when Denis Liudkovski, boss of Russia’s second largest retailer Sviaznoj, stated that his stores will get the Nokia Windows Phone before the end of this year. He extracted this bit of information from a meeting with Stephen Elop himself, where they discussed Sviaznjo’s Nokia shop-in-shop concept. “We are the...

A press shot has apparently been leaked somewhere in New Zealand. The image above shows two new features of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, a Linked Inbox and a new People Hub live tile. We’ve seen the Linked Inbox announced a few days ago, together with a few other business oriented details. The Linked Inbox will let a user combine many inboxes into one. This is something that many users have been waiting for, me included. The second thing that is different in the image is the People Hub live tile. In currently shipping Windows Phone 7...
