Nokia Innovation today leaked what has earlier been rumored – the Wallpaper can now be software changed.

One of the wallpapers in the image above shows an ESPN wallpaper that gives the user live sports updates. The image also shows a Bing wallpaper that most probably will change daily, and a news wallpaper that will show you live images from USA Today. Let’s hope that Microsoft opens this API to 3rd party developers, and not just those approved by Microsoft.

The clock and calendar has also been slightly redesigned and repositioned in order to make room for the live wallpapers. You can clearly see the now user changeable notifications at the bottom. We don’t know if 3rd party developers will be able to generate these, or if this feature is limited to Microsoft approved developers, too.

Both of these two new features will surely be among the top new features in Windows Phone 8 that Microsoft will finally announce this coming Monday, on October 29th.
