Microsoft today took the wraps off their in-house hardware tablet line called Surface. This is the first thing that could really be “the iPad killer” everyone has been waiting for.
The cheaper of the duo, though still without a confirmed price, is the Surface for Windows RT. The second, and more expensive, is the Windows 8 Pro tablet. The cheaper runs on a NVIDIA Tegra-based ARM chip, while the more expensive packs an Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge chip. Both are roughly the same size with 10.6-inch screens. The best part in my opinion is definitely the keyboard cover and included Office RT software! This will make a tablet like this much more useful when sitting at lecture/keynote/presentation in general. Can’t wait to get my hands on a Microsoft Surface!!
