Intel: Multi-core chips not optimized for Android

Intel is lobbying for their own single-core Medfield chips by claiming that other manufacturers’ multi-core system-on-chips are not optimized for Android. According to Intel, the problem is with the queueing and distribution of jobs between different cores, which means that the problem lies in the hardware and is not possible to cure with software changes. They say that hardware manufacturers should use their single-core Medfield chips instead, since they are optimized for Android.

Currently, the fastest smartphones run on quad-core chips from Qualcomm. Intel doen’t have a single high-end smartphone running on their chips.
