The latest iOS 6 beta includes evidence that Apple’s new dock connector on the iPhone 5 will have a 9-pin design. Current generation iPhone’s, and iPod’s for that matter, use a wide 30-pin connector. Further evidence was today found when Nowhereelse.fr leaked an image that shows this new dock connector.

The device pictured above shows a metal ring inside the casing, possibly meaning we’ll see a MagSafe connector. Apple uses a MagSafe connector on their MacBook line of computers. A MagSafe-like connector would allow users to insert the cable in either orientation and make it generally easier by simply snapping into place.
