FT: Nokia in talks with European carriers for exclusive Windows Phone 8 sales

The Financial Times reports that Nokia is looking to change its usual sales approach with the upcoming Windows Phone 8 devices. We’ve usually seen Nokia putting as many phones in as many hands as possible, meaning all possible channels will be used immediately. According FT, this is about to change, and Nokia is looking for deeper partnerships with selected carriers.

Operators will benefit by getting financial support from Nokia, in exchange from dedicated support. This sure sounds like the Lumia strategy that Nokia executed in the United States. FT reports that Nokia have held talks with European carriers France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom.
