Two new hands-on images of the Nokia 800 Sun leaked today. We’re just a day away from the official announcement during Nokia World, so you should get the final specs really soon. Stay tuned for more information on this beautiful thing!
Nokia has aired the first Windows Phone commercial in the UK. It shows a device that looks like the N9. It doesn’t really show you much of the device itself, but it is just a teaser ahead of the launch which is expected to happen during Nokia World.
Let’s hope we’ll see more of these Windows Phone commercials in the future!
Nokia’s biggest announcement party is always Nokia World. This year’s Nokia World will be held next week in London, UK. Most of us are waiting for Nokia’s first Windows Phone announcement, and we’re all in for a treat. Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, today stated that we’ll see a bunch of new Windows Phones announced by Nokia next week! A bunch isn’t just one or two phones, it is more. How many could we see? Maybe three, or even four? Sit tight and wait for Monday :)
The advertisement you see above is from Indian carrier Airtel. It shows the Nokia 800, which looks exactly like the SeaRay. The tagline is “Welcome to the future of smartphones”. I wouldn’t put much money on the legitimacy of this, since it features the old Windows Phone logo for one. The logo changed to a square with the release of Windows Phone 7.5.
Nokia today announced the winner in their Nokia Tune Remake competition. The lucky dude behind the tune that will be in hundreds of millions of phones soon, is Valerio Alessando Sizzi, a 22-year old Italian DJ. His dubstep composition was liked by over one thousand on Facbeook, and eventually ended up charming the jury of seven. Valerio received the first prize of $10,000 USD.

One of the great new features of Windows Phone 7.5 is the improved Bing search. You can now do stuff like audio and image search. Microsoft has now released four ads to show what the phone can do on the search side.
Microsoft has uploaded seven new Windows Phone 7.5 videos on their YouTube account. The videos range from 15 to 18 seconds in length, and could hence be used for an upcoming TV ad campaign. I really like the rhythm in these. Great work!
DigiTimes today wrote an interesting article that both Android and Windows Phone will grab marketshare from Apple due to the iPhone 4S being just a ‘minor’ update after 16-months of waiting. Obviously also the manufacturers who use these operating systems will increase their chances to sell more hardware.
DigiTimes cited industry sources.
The iPhone 4S comes without a larger display and with a download speed of only 14.4Mbps for HSPA, and does not support LTE and NFC technologies although it is powered by a more powerful processor and comes with more advanced camera and video functionalities, the sources pointed out.
Although Apple also launched an entry-level 8GB iPhone 4 and cut the price of its iPhone 3GS, the effectiveness of such tactics will be limited as iPhone fans will still prefer to buy new models and the low-priced iPhones will not be able to compete with Android phones in the entry-level segment, commented the sources.
