As our frequent readers will know, I’ve been in student exchange in Bangkok, Thailand for the past five months. This period in my life has now come to an end, and I’m going back to Finland. I’m currently at the International Airport in Bangkok, waiting for my flight back to Finland. After roughly 11 hours on a plane, I’ll continue my journey for another 5 hours by car to Vaasa.

I’ll be back in FULL force on Wednesday. Those of you who read this site before my exchange will remember that I tried to post up to 10 posts every day, obviously depending on the happenings in the mobile world. I’m happy to say that this same pace will continue now when I’m back in Finland! Thank you for staying with me through this time-wise ‘difficult’ time.

Check out the press conference where Nokia, AT&T, and Microsoft announced the Nokia Lumia 900. The video is the official one edited by Nokia. Enjoy!

A HTC HD8 has been found in the logs of “…I’m a WP7!”. This is a successor to the HD7, obviously with better specs and possibly with Windows Phone 8. Logs showed that it runs build 7740 of WP. We could see this announced at CES or MWC. Can’t wait for CES ;)

Microsoft has finally made their popular business messenger solution Lync available for Windows Phone. You can Lync for Windows Phone by following this link.

Jurgen Thysman, a Communication Manager for Nokia Benelux, just tweeted that Nokia will start the delivery of an update for the Nokia Lumia 800 tomorrow. We’re hoping that this is the update that should bring WiFi tethering and improved battery life!

Engadget got hold of an image and specs of a pretty amazing HTC device. This superphone is currently known as the HTC Zeta. The image above shows a device that will come with a quad-core 2.5 GHz APq8064 Snapdragon S4 CPU, 1 GHz RAM, a 4.5-inch 720p display, 32 GB internal storage, Beats Audio, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8-megapixel rear camera with a dual LED flash, 1080p video, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The battery is said to be 1,830 mAh in capacity.

Expect to see this released in late 2012, or early 2013. This is so far the only leaked smartphone with a quad-core CPU. How would it feel to have a more powerful processor inside your smartphone than on your desktop? ;)

Away from blog update:

As some of you might know, I’m currently studying abroad in Bangkok, Thailand. My house in Rangsit is currently submerged in 2-3 meter deep water. Most of my stuff, including my computer, is at my apartment in there. All of Rangsit is evacuated, and no one is allowed to go there.

Due to this I haven’t been able to post here as I wish. I’ve been traveling around Asia for the past 5 weeks, and believe it or not, there isn’t Internet Cafés in every corner. This post is being written on my HTC Mozart, too. I read mobile news all the time, but I post what I find to be the most important when I have access to a computer.

Stay tuned, and wish for more posts! I will continue posting the usual amount of 4-10 posts when this situation is over.

HTC Rezound

HTC doesn’t seem to stop announcing high-end smartphones to customers in need. The newest is called HTC Rezound (in leaks mentioned as the Vigor).

The HTC Rezound comes with a 4.3-inch 720p screen, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 8-megapixel rear camera with a dual-LED flash. Internals include a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 1,620 mAh battery. Good music playback is ensured by Beats Audio technology.

We’ll see this beast run Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 when released. However, it will be upgraded to Android 4.0 in early 2012.

The HTC Rezound is bound to be a Verizon Wireless exclusive, and we’ll not see it launched in Europe.
