FCC has yet again shed some light on a new, still unannounced product. This time it is the Nokia 702T that is leaked by them.

The Nokia 702T is basically a Nokia E6-00, with support for China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA network, and also DVB-H Mobile-TV support (highly popular in Asia).

Check out the complete FCC filing here.

Nokia is expected to receive its first batch of Windows Phones in September. The devices have been manufactured by Taiwanese original device manufacturer (ODM) Compal. Compal will deliver 2 million units in Q4. The info comes from a Tweet by Dan Nystedt, a technology journalist in Taiwan who has worked for Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal and IDG News.

The devices are expected to go on sale in October. October is also the month when Nokia will host their largest yearly event, called Nokia World. This year’s Nokia World will take place in London, October 26-27th.

Nokia has released a set of Symbian Anna videos for a few Symbian^3 devices out there. The C6-01, N8, E7 and C7 were worthy enough to receive their own video.

In an interview to All Things D, Chris Weber, head of Nokia’s U.S. subsidiary , told that the company will exit Symbian from North America. Their only focus in North America is Windows Phone.

“When we launch Windows Phones we will essentially be out of the Symbian business, the S40 business, etc., ” he stated. “It will be Windows Phone and the accessories around that. The reality is if we are not successful with Windows Phone, it doesn’t matter what we do (elsewhere).”

Nokia New Zealand posted an interesting new banner on their page. They quite clearly show that the Symbian Anna update is now live and kicking.

However, the release of this has yet to happen. Could the banner be a sign that the update is in fact right around the corner, and will he released in the coming few hours/days?

Has anyone received the update yet? Please leave a comment if you have!

Nokia has released a new firmware for the Nokia E6-00 and X7-00. These two devices were the first ones released with Symbian Anna pre-installed. The new update will bring the devices up to version 22.014.

The update includes the following changes:

  • Improved features and performance
  • Updated applications (Social 1.3.215, Web 7.3.1.37)
  • Better stability

The update is currently being distributed via the OVI Software Updater, meaning that you’ll have to plug the device to your computer to apply the update.

Nokia 500 family

Nokia today announced two new things – a new phone, and a new numbering system. The new device is called the Nokia 500. Nokia has decided to skip over the old numbering scheme, and start with the new three-number version. The first number will give us an idea of how much the device will cost, and the second two will be used to identifying the device. A 5 would indicate that this is an average device, a mid-range if you like. But what does this new mid-range device pack?

  • 1GHz ARM11 CPU (a first for Nokia)
  • 256MB RAM
  • Symbian Anna
  • 3.2-inch nHD display (640×360)
  • 5-megapixel camera
  • pentaband 3G radio (HSPA)
Pretty hefty specs for a mid-range device. I’m eager to see the first with a 9**!

The black alternative should ship in Q3, while all the other colors of the rainbow will ship in Q4. Hit View Post to see a few videos of this.
