symbian4Soptify today told on their blog that the highly popular service is now available also to Symbian phones. The application doesn’t support all Symbian phones, but you can check  compatibility by visiting http://m.spotify.com/ with your phone.

I’d say this is good news for Spotify users, but a very bad thing for Nokia’s Comes With Music service. Nokia’s service costs ~130€ a year, and spotify can be bought with 9.99€ a month. So basically they cost the same, but for most people a monthly plan is much better than a yearly payment.

The application is now available to all three main platforms, Symbian, Android and the iPhone OS. So far there is no word on a possible Maemo support.

Vodafone have removed the Nokia N97 from their selection, because of the bugs in the N97. Vodafone’s forums have filled up with complaints about the issues with the Nokia N97, the biggest of them being the lens cover issue and the problems with the a-GPS . Both of these problems have been corrected by Nokia.

Carphone Warehouse have also stopped selling the Sony Ericsson Satio, at least for a while. They say that it is because of the high return rate of the phone. The problems with the phone are all software related, and can be fixed with a firmware update. Sony Ericsson is working on a firmware update at the moment.

Sony Ericsson today put up the product information page for their XPERIA Pureness. With their motto “Talk. Text. Time” this is a quite basic phone, but with a transparent display and a very interesting service, the Pureness Concierge. You can book a hotel room, a restaurant table or anything you want, with just a phone call or an e-mail. They say that they have a dedicated team working for Sony Ericsson for this, and will answer your questions anywhere in the world.

Check out the specs after the break.

sony-ericsson-x10Sony Ericsson today announced the long awaited successor to the XPERIA X2. The phone I’m talking about is the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, or formerly known as the Rachel or XPERIA X3. Don’t know why they decided to call this one X10 instead of X3, but it could have something to do with Nokia’s X3.

The Sony Ericsson X10 will be available in the first quarter of 2010, and according to Sony Ericsson it will be the best Android device for the first half of 2010.

Along with the phone, they also announced the new user-interface used on the phone, called UX (user experience).

Check out the final specifications of the phone, and also a few PR videos after the break.

Sony Ericsson will release their first Android based phone on November 3rd. The phone will be the successor of the XPERIA line, but the final name for the phone is still open. It will most probably be either XPERIA X3, or the X10, with more votes on the later one.

Sony Ericsson has also opened a hype-page for the release. Check it out here.

X3_3

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 has been spotted in the wild. These are not the first images of the phone, but that doesn’t really matter. The quality on these images are better than on the older ones.

This little baby doesn’t have a final name yet, but it is rumored to be one of the following names: XPERIA X3, XPERIA X10 or it’s codename Rachel.

The phone is targeted for a Q1 release in 2010. More pictures after the break.

satio-unboxing

The phone itself will come with a 12.1MP camera, and it’ll be released on October 7th. Video after the break.
