Here is a handy tool for IT-dudes out there – SSH. This is the first SSH client to hit Windows Phone. The reason for the lack of a SSH client before was that there wasn’t support for SOCKET connections in WP before Mango. Now with Mango on the market (in some markets) the problem is solved, and apps like SSH Client are legal.

SSH Client by Tommi Pirttiniemi comes with the following features:

  • private key authentication
  • different font types and sizes
  • custom settings for every connection
  • on-screen keyboard and physical keyboard support
  • customizable rendering speed
  • runs under the lock screen
  • great performance
  • free and ad-free
Fire up the Windows Phone Marketplace to grab the free download of SSH Client!

Angry Birds Big

The success story of Angry Birds doesn’t seem to end, does it? The game reached another milestone today by breaking the 350 million downloads mark. Angry Birds was released in December 2009 on iOS, and now it has spanned to almost every popular platform out there. Angry Birds can at least be played on the following platforms: iOS, Android, Windows Phone, webOS, PlayStation 3, PSP, Windows, OS X and Google’s Chrome browser.

Facebook made today an interesting move by releasing the Facebook Messenger app. This is simply their messaging solution in one app, and nothing more. Users can send messages directly to friends or groups. Additionally, the user can choose to send an image or share a location with a friend.

Messenger is a separate app, so it only takes one click to get to your messages or send a new one. Messages are delivered through notifications and texts, so your friends are more likely to get them right away.

You can use Messenger to reach all of your friends — whether they’re on Facebook or in your phone contacts. All you have to do is type the person’s name.

The app should hit Google’s Android Market and Apple’s App Store in the coming few hours.

Windows Phone developers aware! The Silverlight Toolkit will get a Mango update sometime in August. The Silverlight Toolkit has been used in many Windows Phone applications (and Silverlight applications) to make them more smooth and functional. Components like the LongListSelector and PerformanceProgressBar can be seen in almost every Windows Phone Silverlight application out there. Its good to see that a Mango refresh is also on its way of the toolkit. Stay tuned for more news on when this is actually available.
