Earlier tonight Apple started seeding the first beta of iOS 5.1 to developers. As you can see in the image above, this beta is available for the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 4GS, iPad 2, iPad and 3rd and 4th generation of iPod touch devices. This update is finally expected to fix the battery issue, and also include a selection of new features. Some rumors have told that iOS 5.1 will see new functionality added to Siri, but at least in this first beta this isn’t the case.
The iPhone 4 has for a while been the most popular cameraphone on Flickr. The iPhone 3G has been the second most popular, and the iPhone 3GS the third most popular. This situation changed pretty fast after the iPhone 4S was released.
Today, the iPhone 4S has been available for little over one month, and it has already climbed to be the second most popular cameraphone used on Flickr. It will be interesting to see how high the device can climb.
The only non-Apple cameraphone is the HTC EVO 4G, which keeps a steady 5th position in popularity.
The first release of Infinity Blade for iOS was a big hit. It was one of the most beautiful games iOS had seen. We’ll see Infinity Blade 2 launched on January 12, 2012.
In this new release, the team has updated the graphics to really push the new iPhone 4S to its limits. In the video above you’ll see the team talk about the great visuals in Infinity Blade 2.
Creative Director, Donald Mustard Artistic Director Adam Ford and Technical Director Geremy Mustard go inside the Infinity Blade 2 visuals.
Apple has delayed the release of iOS 5.0.2 due to “address-based memory leaks.” The update was rumored to go live this week. The world is expecting Apple to release the minor update as soon as possible, and hopes are high that it will address poor battery life of iOS 5. A new release schedule for iOS 5.0.2 has not yet been set.
Even though iOS 5.0.1 was released just a few days ago, Apple is prepearing to release an update to it soon. For some users iOS 5.0.1 fixed ‘batterygate’, but for many the problem still exists. Now it appears that Apple is preparing to release iOS 5.0.2 to fix the rapid battery drain issue for good. Rumors suggest that we’ll see the update released next week.
Apple is also hard at work to bring iOS 5.1 to customers. This update is said to bring new features to Siri. The new features would enable the virtual assistant to snap photos, record video, and modify phone settings. “Siri, enable WiFi” sounds great, doesn’t it?
Ever since iOS 5 was released, users have been complaining about decreased battery performance on their iPhones. Most complaints have come from iPhone 4S owners, but also some owners of older hardware have noticed drastic decreases in battery life. iOS 5.0.1 was supposed to fix this issue, but new reports indicate that this wasn’t the case for everyone. Let’s hope Apple gets it together, and releases iOS 5.0.2 soon!
Apple has made the first ever over-the-air update for the iOS available. iOS 5.0.1 was released earlier today, and can be obtained without plugging your iPhone to a computer. The update weighs 44.6 MB, and apparently fixes the battery drain issue. Other fixes include cloud syncing, Australian voice recognition, and the re-addition of multitasking gestures on the original iPad.
