Windows Phone 7 update screen

ILoveWP has talked with a HTC rep and gotten a confirmation that the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update will hit HTC devices in Taiwan tomorrow. The update will be available at 60 stores, and will include support for Traditional Chinese. Users wanting to upgrade will need to take their device to a store, and ask them to update the device there. The reason for this is most probably the new languages that arrived with Mango. Users wanting to update to Mango should reserve roughly 20 minutes for the update process.

HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Dr DreHTC made an unexpected move when they announced the HTC Sensation XE smartphone. This is basically an upgraded Sensation with tougher specs and Beats Audio. This makes the Sensation XE the first official smartphone to use the Beats Audio tech.

The Sensation XE is powered  by a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 4.3-inch touchscreen with qHD (540×960) resolution, and a larger 1730mAh battery. The retail package contains a special pair of Beat by Dr. Dre headphones with a remote control, and an 8GB or 16GB microSD card to store the music.

We should see the HTC Sensation XE hit stores in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East sometime during this month. The price and a possible North American release was left outside of the press release.

HTC RunnymedeHTC’s still unannounced Runnymede has again leaked with an official looking press image posted by ePrice China. What’s interesting about this press image, is the fact that there is a Beats Audio logo on the back. Could this device be one of the first smartphones to come with the Beats by Dr. Dre technology? Other features that are expected to hit the Runnymede include a 4.7-inch WVGA display, 1.5GHz single-core CPU, 16GB or 32GB internal memory. The Runnymede looks much like the already released Windows Phone Mango device Titan, with the difference that it’s running Android.

HTC has sent out invites to an press event on September 20th in New York. We don’t know exactly what they’re preparing to release, but I’d guess it will be the company’s fall set of Android and Windows Phone devices. 10 more days and we’ll know more!

A short promo video of HTC’s Sense design process, “it just makes sense.”

The graph above shows pretty well which manufacturers provide updates to their device’s, and which don’t. HTC is the king with 13 devices running Android 2.3. Samsung again has the most devices running Android 2.1, and 2.2. Keep in mind that Samsung has the largest armada of devices out there, so they also have to do a lot of work to bring updates to their phones.

Here’s a video from HTC’s press event where they announced the HTC Titan and Radar. The device’s in question are the first official Mango phones from HTC, and they pack some pretty cool specs!

The HTC Omega is expected to be announced at HTC’s event on September 1. This is the company’s first device running Windows Phone Mango. Now some user has posted this device on an Algerian auction site. Hit View Post to see a few additional images.
