Cult of Mac got hold of a list of secret code names of iOS. These code names are something that is used only internally. Apple also uses this same kind of naming for their desktop OS, Mac OS X. On the desktop side the code name actually became part of the marketing name, and this is why we today have Mac OS X Lion. It remains to be seen if Apple will also do this same transition with iOS.

Possibly the most anticipated iOS game has arrived. Infinity Blade 2 is now available in the Apple App Store for a price of $9.99.

While the game will work on the original iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and 3rd and 4th generation iPod touch, it is recommended that you play it on an iPhone 4S or iPad 2. The game will really push Apple’s A5 to its limits on these two devices. Lightning and shading effects are said to match those seen on consoles.

Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Fire up the App Store and download this now!

iOS 5.1 beta 1

iPhone 5 reference found in first iOS 5.1 beta

Some 9to5mac readers have found the first reference to the next generation iPhone. The new iPhone is dubbed internally as the iPhone 5,1, and it found in the new iOS 5.1 beta released yesterday. The current generation iPhone, the iPhone 4S, is internally dubbed as the iPhone 4,1. A jump from 4,1 to 5,1 indicates that a major change in the hardware is on its way. We’re hoping to see the next generation Apple SoC, the A6, inside of this new iPhone. Another rumored feature is a 4-inch screen and a casing made out of aluminum.

The iPhone 4S was released in October, which could mean that we’ll see the next generation announced a year after this, in October of 2012. We’re of course hoping to see the 6th iPhone released earlier than this in the usual June till July timeframe.

You can expect hundreds of rumors before we actually see this announced :) Stay tuned!

iPhone 4S second most popular on Flickr
The iPhone 4 has for a while been the most popular cameraphone on Flickr. The iPhone 3G has been the second most popular, and the iPhone 3GS the third most popular. This situation changed pretty fast after the iPhone 4S was released.

Today, the iPhone 4S has been available for little over one month, and it has already climbed to be the second most popular cameraphone used on Flickr. It will be interesting to see how high the device can climb.

The only non-Apple cameraphone is the HTC EVO 4G, which keeps a steady 5th position in popularity.

Here’s one of the funniest ads I’ve seen in a while! Samsung decided to make fun of Apple fans in order to promote their new Galaxy S II.
