Steve Jobs today announced the iPad 2. It comes with an “all new design”, which isn’t that much changed from the previous version. It is however lighter, thinner and much faster than the original one.
This leak again fulfills the specs we’re expecting the iPad 2 to have;tapered edges, flat back and larger speaker grill. We’ll know for sure when the final iPad 2 is launched later this evening!
Amazon Germany could just have leaked the iPad 2. What you see in the image can’t be found at their site anymore, but the screenshot speaks for itself. Available two weeks from today, on March 17. There is no way of confirming this. We’ll just have to wait for another few hours before this device is officially announced.
BGR received the image you now see above, and what is claimed to be the back of the iPad 2. Everything that is rumored for it is there: speaker grill, rear-facing camera, tapered edges and the flat back. We’ll get a confirmation for this on Wednesday, when the iPad 2 will be announced.
Apple is said to be experimenting with an Android-like pattern unlock for iOS. The user will be able to form a pattern by moving their finger over nine points. If this same pattern in completed within a specific time, the user will be granted access to the application. The implementation seen in the image above looks very good. Let’s hope this makes its way to iOS in the near future!

A third proof is that the leaked screen protectors for the iPad 2 fit this digitizer perfectly. It’s highly possible that Apple will also announce a white iPad 2 at this week’s iPad event!
