Google Nexus One vs iPhone 3GS – 3D Performance
Jonne Eilimö | February 15, 2010 09:38 UTC | 0 comments |A 3D performance comparison between Google’s Nexus One and Apple’s iPhone 3GS.
The test I’m showing here is a pretty typical 3D game scene. It contains a 3D environment and multiple animated 3D characters. The GPU is stress tested due to the high number of polygons in the scene and the CPU is stress tested as it is calculating the bone & skinning of the animation.
Starting up the test on both devices shows that the iPhone 3GS runs at 60 frames per second (fps) and the Nexus at between 30 to 35fps. As we add more woman models until we get to 8 models we see that the frame rate has dropped to 29fps on the iPhone and approx 21fps on the Nexus. Therefore, on the face of it, it seems the iPhone is 138% faster in this scene.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini and Xperia X10 mini pro announced
Jonne Eilimö | February 15, 2010 09:26 UTC | 0 comments |
Sony Ericsson today announced two unrumored phones, the Xperia X10 mini and Xperia X10 mini pro. The phones are, not surprisingly, smaller versions of the original Xperia X10, and with a few downgraded features. It will run Android 1.6 on a 600MHz Qualcomm processor, 5 megapixel autofocus camera, A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth, WiFi and a 2.55″ QVGA touchscreen.
The only difference between these two versions is the QWERTY-keyboard. Expect to see this phone in stores during the second quarter.
Check out the press release and specs after the break.
