AT&T switching to “anything but iPhone” strategy

According to three sources for Boy Genius Report, AT&T is adopting an “anything but iPhone” strategy. Regional sales managers have instructed store managers that people looking for smartphones should be directed towards Android or Windows Phone devices. Even persons looking specifically for an iPhone will be shown other options so they can “make an informed decision.” Some retail staff has also been banned from using their iPhones as their company-owned devices. One of BGR’s sources commented that the iPhone used to represent as much as 80 percent of the smartphone sales in his region’s store. That number has since dropped to between 50 and 60 percent.
