Apple sued Samsung for infriging several of their patents. The image above shows you how Samsung is copying the menu icons (Apple’s iOS on left, Samsung’s TouchWiz on right). I think it is pretty clear where they got their inspiration from ;)

Most of these icons are generic and apple has not the first one to use them, like the phone with green color on green background. The chat icon is also not new and use before (and the one that samsung uses is actually Google Androids standard one), not book the same. The only one that I would come to think of is the address book and the music programs icons, The address book I think other services like facebook also uses, they should be sued as well then.

So  you’re telling me that apple has a patent on speech balloons to represent talks and discussions? Or a notepad to represent notes? Or a flower to represent a picture? Or a person to represent a contact?

Not only are the graphics the same on every graphical OS every invented, it’s just obvious cultural symbolism, but things like the balloons even predate apple by centuries. How fanboist can one get?
