Android 2.3 bricked your Samsung Galaxy S? Here's how to fix it!
Many users are reporting that the most recent (Android 2.3) update for Samsung’s Galaxy S devices could brick your phone. A factory reset doesn’t help the problem, but apparently a hard-reset will fix it!
To do a hard reset on your Samsung Galaxy S, please follow these instructions:
- Turn off the power. If the phone is frozen, pull out the battery and reinsert it.
- Hold down the Volume Down button.
- Press and release the Power button.
- The phone should boot into a maintenance mode, with menu options Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage and Simlock
- Select Clear Storage by pressing down the Volume Down button.
- Press and release the Power button.
- Confirm your decision with Volume Up (Yes) or Volume Down (No).
