Check out this screen comparison pic from Cnet Asia. On left we have a Desire with Sony’s new Super LCD screen, and on right a Desire with the ‘old’ AMOLED screen. In this test I’d say the AMOLED is better.
Check out this browser comparison video between the new BlackBerry Torch 9800, iPhone 4 and Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S). The Torch 9800 runs on Blackberrys new OS 6, the iPhone 4 on iOS 4 and the Samsung Captivate on Google’s Android OS.

Sample IVI home screen and taskbar. The IVI home screen and taskbar are built with QT 4.6 included in the MeeGo 1.0 core software platform. The taskbar is designed with Automotive Center Console HMI requirements in mind. By default, it appears on the left side of the screen but easy customizations can move it to the right side of the screen to optimize access for the driver or passenger, as desired. The taskbar can be controlled by a Contour ShuttleXpress scroll wheel, touch screen or mouse and is designed to reflect the scroll wheel usage, with the ability to spin through the menu options and make selections or go back by pressing two button or by tapping the touch screen.
Sample navigation (Navit) and Bluetooth* hand free dialing (BT-HFP dialer) are included from community upstream projects. The BT-HFP dialer application will be replaced in MeeGo 1.1 with a MeeGo Touch Framework based dialer application, supporting HFP and well integrated with the MeeGo core software platform.
Carrick is the UI for the MeeGo 1.0 core software “ConnMan” connection manager.

Pretty cool app made by Planetbeing from the iPhone Dev-Team. It will show you all cell-towers that your jailbroken iPhone can see, and will mark the one your connected to with red. The app is available via Cydia for $4.99.
Signal is a Cydia Store app I wrote for jailbroken iPhone 4, 3G, and 3GS that shows you interesting data about your cell reception as well as plots a map of your nearby cell towers. Compare coverage between different carriers, test antenna vulnerabilities on your phone, or determine your nearest cell tower. Radio engineers will also find being able to see the downlink and uplink frequencies and scrambling codes of neighboring cells useful for field testing.
The Samsung E2370 arrived today at my workplace. This new rugged phone from Samsung is IP54 certified and comes with a 2,000 mAh battery. In terms of time, that will translate into 22h talk or 66 days standby! Imagine charging your phone only 6 times a year (if you’re not that popular ;)). The battery inside this phone is nearly as thick as the phone. Otherwise this is a very basic dual-band GSM phone, with Bluetooth, microSD slot and VGA camera.
The Samsung E2370 is currently priced at only 79€ (23% VAT included). Hit View Post to see the gallery.
