Song A Day #561 is called The iPhone Antenna Song, and was released the day before Apple’s Press Conference on the antenna issue. #562 again is just called Steve Jobs, and is focused around the guy behind Apple. Hit View Post to see Song A Day #562.

Verizon is currently pushing an OTA update for the DROID Incredible. The update will not bring Android 2.2 on board, but for instance Skype, 720p video recording, mobile hotspot functionality and a new boot-up animation is added by this update, so you could actually call it a big update.

Symbian Foundation posted a set of Symbian^4 UI screenshots on their Symbian Wiki page. The screenshots have now been removed from that page, but you can find them here after the break.

These images aren’t of course anything near final, but gives you an idea where Symbian is headed with its UI design. Symbian^4 looks like an mash-up of Symbian^3 (Nokia N8) and Symbian^1 5th edition (Nokia N97). Hit View Post to see the rest of the screenshots.

Research In Motion released an official statement on the accusations that Steve Jobs made yesterday at Apple’s Press Conference regarding antenna issues on the BlackBerry Bold 9700.

“Apple’s attempt to draw RIM into Apple’s self-made debacle is unacceptable. Apple’s claims about RIM products appear to be deliberate attempts to distort the public’s understanding of an antenna design issue and to deflect attention from Apple’s difficult situation. RIM is a global leader in antenna design and has been successfully designing industry-leading wireless data products with efficient and effective radio performance for over 20 years. During that time, RIM has avoided designs like the one Apple used in the iPhone 4 and instead has used innovative designs which reduce the risk for dropped calls, especially in areas of lower coverage. One thing is for certain, RIM’s customers don’t need to use a case for their BlackBerry smartphone to maintain proper connectivity. Apple clearly made certain design decisions and it should take responsibility for these decisions rather than trying to draw RIM and others into a situation that relates specifically to Apple.”

Steve Jobs sure knows how to make other people angry :)

iPhone 4At Apple’s Press Conference earlier today Apple told that the reception issue caused by the antenna would entitle those affected with a free Apple iPhone 4 bumper, or a full money back guarantee  of 30 days. Another interesting fact is that international availability of the iPhone 4 will happen on July 30th. Also, the white iPhone 4 will be available by the end of July. No word on if Apple will change the manufacturing process in any way, we’ll know for sure when it’s available in the second tier countries.

According to a leak today, what we previously knew as the HTC Ace, could in fact be called the HTC Desire HD.

HTC Desire HD leaked specs:

  • 4.3 ” WVGA (480 x 800) capacitive touchscreen
  • 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 8 Megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture
  • Android 2.2 with Flash 10 support
  • XviD playback support
  • SRS surround sound
  • 4GB internal memory
  • eBook reader feature
  • unibody aluminum design

Spec wise this sounds lovely, especially the unibody aluminum design part! From the leak that happened earlier this month, we can expect the Desire HD to be available sometime in October (read more about it here).

The Nokia C6-01 leaked today on Nokia Netherlands’ site. The C6-01 is basically a C6-00, but with a better camera equipment. The camera gets an upgrade to 8MP and dual-LED flash (instead of 5MP and single flash). Also the back-cover got a slight style update. In my eye the new back-cover looks a little bit steel-y?

The Nokia C6-01 will be priced at 279€. No word on when this will be available. We’ll probably know more when there is an official Press Release available.
