Apple today announced that they have sold 2 million iPads in just 59 days. Recent milestones are 300k units during day one, and 1 million units in 28 days. Amazing that they have continued with the same pace throughout the whole time it’s been available.

“Customers around the world are experiencing the magic of iPad, and seem to be loving it as much as we do,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.

USB On-the-go feature demoed on the Nokia N8. You can plug a memory stick into your Nokia N8 via a USB to microUSB cable that comes in the sales package. The USB memory stick can be used for file transfer, and the Nokia N8 should be able to read contents on your stick. A feature that some day could come handy.

Nokia has put together a series of videos related to the Nokia N8. This one is called Foosball Fever, and is part of the ‘What will you do with it?’ -series.

At the end of this video you’ll get a list of 9 tricks that can be played in slow motion, and also a ‘Behind the scenes’ -video. Hit View Post to see the behind the scenes video.

With only one week to go until the WWDC ’10 kicks off on June 7th, I decided to put together a list of what Apple is rumored to bring on board the next generation iPhone.

The name for this device will most probably be iPhone 4G, since it is the fourth generation iPhone. The first gen iPhone was called 2G, second gen 3G, third gen 3GS and now the fourth generation most probably 4G. Another suggestion for a name is iPhone HD, because it is rumored to come with a HD screen.

A list of what is rumored or confirmed for the next generation iPhone.

  • A recent rumor would quadruple the current amount of pixels with a resolution of 960 x 640 (iPhone 3GS has 480 x 320). AMOLED is out of the picture with low production amounts and Apple’s need for enormous productions quantities of their components.
  • The phone will have a front-facing camera for video calls. Evidence has also been found in the current iPhone OS 4.0 beta that the 4G will support video-chat features via iChat.
  • The iPhone 4G/HD will most probably have an Apple designed A4 chip to power the device. This way Apple can optimize the chip for their needs, and maximize performance and battery life. Could be the same chip that the iPad uses.
  • The camera is expected to be bumped to at least 5 megapixels, and also come with a flash.
  • Some kind of ceramic back on the phone. This is also rumored to be touch sensitive, much like the surface of the MagicMouse. The back could be used to control the device with even more finger gestures.
  • It will come in two colors, white and black. Also the front panel will be white in the white version of the phone. Previously only the back of the phone has been either black or white, the front panel has been black in both versions.

Steve Jobs told reporters after the iPhone leak that we still haven’t seen a thing, and that we will not be disappointed with what is still to come. We sure will know more next week’s Tuesday when WWDC kicks off, and Job’s is said to announce the iPhone 4G/HD.

The Android Eclair powered HTC Legend was released in Finland last week, and we got the chance to play around it for one night. The HTC Legends continues where the HTC Hero left. The phone also looks like an updated HTC Hero; the trackball has been replaced with an optical trackpad, the screen is a clear AMOLED capacitive touchscreen now, the bulky HTC extUSB connector has been replaced with a standard microUSB connector and the case is an unibody alloy casing that feels good in your palm.

A source close to Nokia informed us today that the Nokia 6700 slide has again been delayed.

Nokia expects to ship the phone during week 24, which means that it will be available June 14-20. Nokia has recently been having problems with getting products out in time, with for instance the E72 being delayed by two months.

I’ll post more if the release date changes again, or finally when it’s available with a set of live photos.

A set of images for you to take a look at while I write the review of the HTC Legend. Stay tuned for the review!

Finally, Skype 2.0 was today released with the added support of VoIP calls over 3G! Calls will be free until at least end of August 2010, after which there will be a small monthly fee to use this feature. Head over to the App Store and download/upgrade to Skype 2.0!

What’s New in Version 2.0.0

Upgrades / improvements include:

  • Call using your 3G connection. Skype-to-Skype calls on 3G are free until at least end of August 2010, after which there will be a small monthly fee (operator charges for data will still apply).
  • Near CD-quality sound for Skype-to-Skype calls using wideband audio (SILK codec) on iPhone 3GS and 2nd generation iPod touch.
  • Enhanced call quality indicator.
  • Improved start-up time.
  • Fast access to the dial pad from iPhone home screen.

This new iPhone leak comes from the Czech Republic, and reveals the resolution of the next-gen iPhone. Guys from superiphone.cz has gotten their hands on the next iPhone, and actually put it under a microscope to count the pixels. They found out that the iPhone 4G/HD has  a IPS panel, and will have a 960×640 resolution. This is the highest resolution on current phones, and four times the pixels of the iPhone 3GS. Current iPhones sport a resolution of 480×320.

It has long been rumored that the iPhone 4G/HD will not come with an AMOLED screen, simply because there isn’t big enough factories to produce the sheer amount of screens Apple needs when they come out with a new product. WWDC starts in little over a week, so stay tuned :)
