Untethered Jailbreak for iPhone and iPad
Geohot, the guy behind the famous one-click-jailbreak-solution for the iPhone, has released a video of what he calls an Untethered Jailbreak for the iPhone. This new way should also work on the iPad, and it remains to be seen if geohot will actually release this when the first iPads get to their users. And the new untethered means that it is all software based, no tethering/loaders are needed for this to work.
Here is what Geohot wrote on his blog:
The jailbreak is all software based, and is as simple to use as blackra1n. It is completely untethered, works on all current tethered models(ipt2, 3gs, ipt3), and will probably work on iPad too.
Don’t ask about a release date. You won’t make it happen any sooner.
For the time being, you can download the current Blackra1n version here.
