In the Nokia N900 update that was released earlier this morning(2.2009.55.1, PR1.1), came an undocumented feature. By pressing Ctrl+Shit+O in the web browser, you will enable the hidden portrait mode that was called a bug a few weeks ago.
Check out the video of it after the break.

Bloomberg released an interesting interview with Gold Sachs Group Inc. analyst Robert Chen. Robert talked about the next iPhone generation, and about possible hardware add-ons/upgrades.
“Apple’s going to put a lot of innovation, not just on the hardware, but also on the software of the new iPhone,” said Taipei-based Chen, a member of Asia’s top-ranked technology hardware research team. The handset will feature a new plastic casing similar to that used for Apple’s touch-panel Magic Mouse released last year, he said.
Let’s see how this will change the user experience of the iPhone, looks to me that something ‘revolutionary’ is coming.

Swedish operator 3 leaked a nifty bit of information today on Facebook. According to their Facebook group, they’ll release HTC Bravo in April. This would confirm the month from a leaked HTC document a few months ago that caused many geeks to have an overflow error caused by drool.
HTC Bravo will be hardware wise much like Google’s Nexus One. It will have a 3.7″ AMOLED touch screen, 5MP camera, Snapdragon (probably 1GHz) processor, Android 2.1, but with added HTC SenseUI. So basically, this is a HTC SenseUI tuned Nexus One! Sounds tasty to me.

The Nokia N900 today received its second firmware update this week, bringing the version up to 2.2009.51-1. This is the same release that was up in the headlines a few weeks ago, a version that Nokia calls Maemo 5 PR1.1. The update started going to customers a little over one hour ago (7am Finnish time). Compared to the version released earlier this week, this one is a major update.
If you already updated to version 2.2009.44-1(PR1.0.1), this update should automatically come available in your Application Manager as an over-the-air update. If you still have the Sales Release 2.2009.42-11, you have to wait for the Maemo community to release flash images of the update.

Sony Ericsson Satio’s little brother, Kurara, will most probably be released in April, at least if you trust “sources close to the matter”. Engadget is reporting that Sony Ericsson will announce the phone at the Mobile World Congress held in February. This is the same conference, where their Satio was released last year. Kurara will be released first in the United Kingdom, and in other European countries soon after that.
Sony Ericsson’s Kurara will come with a 8.1MP camera, Symbian OS and a large touch screen. Sample images taken with Kurara’s camera after the break(really impressive quality).

Google’s Nexus One didn’t have an extremely good first week. According to Flurry, a mobile application analytics firm, Google sold only 20,000 Nexus Ones during the first week. This is three times lower than what T-Mobile’s myTouch sold, twelve times lower than the Droid, and a whopping eighty times lower than the iPhone 3GS.
This sounds pretty low, but I don’t think this should be compared to for instance the iPhone. The iPhone was launched in eight countries simultaneously, and it was not the first generation of the phone. Also, another fact that could cause so bad sales, is that Google’s Nexus One wasn’t exactly the first phone to run on Android(OK, it was the first phone to run on Android 2.1).

Finally, the Nokia 5800 got a firmware update that brings kinetic scrolling to the phone. The new software version is 40.0.005, and should be available either via NSU(Nokia software update) or OTA(over-the-air). Get it while its hot! And, don’t forget to make a backup of your device before updating ;)
