Rogers stops selling HTC Dream due to a software bug


Rogers have stopped sales of new HTC Dream phones, due to a software glitch in the phone. The bug is caused by the GPS software, and affects the ability to make emergency calls to 911.

Those of you who have a HTC Dream phone, should disable the GPS feature on their phone. HTC is currently working on a fix to this problem.

Rogers/Fido service message: URGENT 911 Calls: Please disable GPS location on your HTC Dream device to ensure all 911 calls complete. HTC is urgently working on a software upgrade and we will provide details shortly so you can re-enable GPS.

Instructions: Select Menu – Select Settings – Select Location – Uncheck Enable GPS Satellite
