New type of spelling coming to touchscreen phones

swype

Swype will revolutionize the way you type on a touchscreen device, that is if you believe the developers os Swype. It will work by analyzing the pattern that you swipe on the screen, and will guess a word out of this. Take a look at the image above, if it still is unclear how this thing works ;)

The technique is developed by the same guys that are behind the now widely used T9.

Swype will come bundled in Verizon’s Samsung Omnia II, that will be released in US on December 2nd. And during next year, we’ll most probably see many phones with this feature. It’s interesting to see how this thing turns out.

Check out the demonstration after the break.
