Slashgear has gotten their hands on a pre-production model of Nokia’s N900. The phone is hardware-vise final, but will see a firmware upgrade before it’s release. Seems like a very nice phone!
The 1-click jailreak tool has been released for iPhone. This program will jailbreak ANY iPhone. What you can’t do with this, is unlock your phone. That will most probably be made available in a later version.
The NokiaBlog has posted a video showing how the Nokia N900 handles video recording. You can focus and lock it for video, but it’s not possible to change the focus during recording.
In a survey conducted by JD Power, Apple has scored highest in smartphone satisfaction rates. It got the highest score in all categories, except battery function.
Apple ranks highest among manufacturers of smartphones used primarily for personal reasons, with a score of 811, and performs particularly well in ease of operation, operating system, features and physical design. LG (776) and RIM BlackBerry (759) follow Apple in the rankings.
Among customers who use their smartphones primarily for business purposes, Apple ranks highest with a score of 803, followed by RIM BlackBerry (724).
The iPhone just received a firmware update. The update brings the version numbering to 3.1.2. The change log can be seen in the image above. The European/Finnish version of the update is 306.2MB.
Nokia has now officially acknowledged that there is problem with their lens cover.
If you’re an N97 user and you’ve noticed the image quality on your device is affected by this, then this is what you should do:
Take a soft cloth and clean the lens.
If that doesn’t work, get in touch with your nearest Nokia Care Point where the Nokia Care Point staff can then determine whether or not the lens and or the lens cover mechanism needs replacing under the device warranty.
EA will later today announce the Rock Band game franchise for iPhone. The game will feature Bluetooth support for multiplayer mode with up to 4 players.
