According to a Finnish news site, the Nokia Ovi store hasn’t been a success so far. There has been only 10 million downloads from the Ovi store since it’s launch on May 26th, 2009.
Kai Öistämö told at the Nokia World ’09 event that every user had downloaded an average of 6 applications from the store. This would mean, that the Ovi store has approximately 1.67 million users.
Compare these numbers to the mother of all application stores, the Apple App Store. During its first two months last year, the App Store served over 100 million downloads. Now the App Store has hit the 1.5 billion milestone, and 2 billion downloads shouldn’t be that far away.
According to a German iPhone news site, Navigon has now officially released a car mount for the iPhone. The mount will come with a car charger, and be available in October. The price is expected to be a little bit under 40€.
What makes this mount so much cheaper as the TomTom mount is, that it will not have it’s own GPS-chip. The Navigon car navigation will only rely on the A-GPS chip of the iPhone. This will make the navigation a little bit less accurate, and slower.
If I was in need of a navigator, I would go with the TomTom mount :)
Apple has finally approved a C64-emulator into the App Store. Last time it was submitted for approval it got rejected, but this time it got the green light.
The app name should be available in your localized App Store under the name C64.
