Eldar over at Mobile-review has put up a nice review of the Maemo5 OS running on Nokia N900. He goes through every little detail of the operating system with both pictures and text.

This write up will focus primarily on the software department of the N900, as well as its capabilities (by the way, another phone in this line-up, set to launch during summer 2010, won’t differ from the N900 in terms of hardware). And the best way to break down an OS is to run through every feature an app it has got on board.

Head over to the review here.

lg-gd510-packshot-solar

LG just announced their newest phone arrival, the LG GD510 (aka Pop). They claim that this device is the most compact touch screen phone with a 3″ screen.

To make it so simple, they have removed the WiFi and 3G radio chip. Both in my opinion a “must have feature” in todays touch screen phones. Instead of those, they have added a solar-panel on the back of the phone. The phone should be released in mid October in Europe, and at the end of October in the US.

Check out the PR video and pictures after the break!

Cavemens and guys from the future all in the same commercial ;)

The popular sharing service Dropbox just released their own iPhone application. The application will require you to run iPhone OS 3.1. Both the application and the Basic dropbox service(2GB storage) are free of charge.

lgwanted

Is this a good PR stunt, or did LG release some ultra high-tech phones out of their lab by mistake? Either way, if your phones serial is any of the above, CONGRATS, you’ve just won $10,000 :)

lgbl40shotsept09I somehow missed the announcement of LG’s BL20 yesterday, but better late than never ;) This phone will be a cheaper version of the LG BL40 Chocolate Touch.

The BL20 Chocolate will come with a 2.4″ QVGA screen, ARM9 processor, 5MP camera with AF, Bluetooth and a microSD card slot.

I think I’ll get myself one of these. Don’t know if the thing will start to peel of after a while, but it’s worth trying :)

updates_2009-28-09_160135

An update for the Palm webOS is now available, brining the firmware numbering up to version 1.2.0.

Except for many minor improvements, this update will also bring app purchases to the App Catalog. Read Palm’s KB article about the update here.
